Active shooter incidents are often unpredictable and evolve quickly. In the midst of the chaos, anyone can play an integral role in mitigating the impacts of an acitive shooter incident. DHS aims to enhance preparedness through a "whole community" approach by providing training, products, tools, and resources to help you prepare for and respond to an active shooter incident. This presentation will focus on how to be prepared and gain the skills needed to prevent, recognize, and increase you ability to survive during an active shooter incident. You will also learn how to make educated life-saving decision regarding which actions to take during an active shooter incident. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe actions to take when confronted with an active shooter and responding Law Enforcement officials
  2. Recognize potential workplace violence indicators.
  3. Describe actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents.
