Where America Goes to Work

The third iteration of BOMA’s in-depth industry analysis, Where America Goes to Work: The Contribution of Office Building Operations to the Economy, 2014, is complete and the numbers show that commercial real estate continues to be a force for economic strength in our nation’s economy. The new study, written by Professor Stephen Fuller of George Mason University with data from CoStar and the BOMA Experience Exchange Report, finds that the 10.4 billion square feet of commercial office space located within the markets served by BOMA International’s local associations contributed $227.6 billion to the gross domestic product of the US in 2013.  Perhaps most importantly, the report also breaks down state and local economic impacts, real estate taxes generated and much more for you to take on your legislatives.  You can read the full report here.
